Not A Typical Kilt Accessory
On Sunday, my family and I went to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. I don't normally go, but I had a nice time.
It was sunny and warm, so my wife bought a parasol.
She asked me to hold it a moment, for her, and before I returned it, she took this photo.

The Renaissance Festival might be the only place in Arizona where a man in a kilt, holding a parasol, doesn't get a second glance!
The band Tartanic was there also. I'd never seen them and enjoyed their music quite a lot. I wasn't expecting that awesome, thumping beat.

Anyhow. There were plenty of other kilt wearers in attendance or working the festival. As you can imagine, the kilt styles ran the gamut. I was, in comparison, dressed more reserved and conservatively than many of the others.
It was nice to be out in my kilt without attraction much (if any) attention.
Except for some of the vendors trying to get my attention, the only remark about my kilt was from a nice, older woman who stopped me and asked, "Excuse me, Sir. Which tartan?"
To which I responded, "Mitchell."
And she said, "Oh, very nice. Thank you."
And that was all.
In this last photo, my wife again has her parasol. But, I think there may have been a photobomber...
