Callaway Monterey Golf Brogues - Review

Here's one I thought I'd share for any golfers around here.
I am just now getting in to playing golf (I've always just gone to the driving range for fun), and I played my first 18 holes yesterday.
Friday, I recieved a package from england.... golf shoes!
I had looked for simple leather brogues, but the only golf shoes that seem to exist in the US are the sporty white leather sort...
After looking around, I found some I really liked; The 2015 Callaway Monterey Brogues. They aren't in the US catalog, and the ones on Amazon and eBay are from the UK; Not finding anything close to them, I went ahead and sprung for a pair.

They came with an extra set of laces that match the soles (red), which I installed...
Fresh out of the box, with new laces:

Here they are with my (also) newly acquired WPG hose (and tartan red HOC garters)

Posed for the camera (pardon my "sunburnt smile"):

    and, Action!

    Pros:
-They are indeed waterproof. It's been raining a lot, and this course is built on preserved wetlands; they kept me dry and held up well to mud and muck. Very much in the tradition of what brogues are good for...
-Style; These are now my favorite kilt shoes; too bad I shouldn't wear them around on concrete too much...
-They're about as grippy and supportive as they can be; short of spikes, they're on par with any other golf shoes.

    Cons:
-The insoles are a bit thick, and made the fit a little tight at first.
-the padded collars are a little bit too thick; gives a chunky look, but also ads a lot of pressure on my Achilles tendon and metatarsals... blister acquired (not a prob, brand new shoes tend to do that...).
-I don't think the lining is leather; they'll probably wind up stinky. oh well..

Here's the rest of the swing sequence I posted in my MacLaren Ancient thread earlier, just for fun. And because, you know. Pleats!

    That's all, As you were!
