Another Kilt Surprise in my Little Town
So I'm at a charity auction for the local cancer support folks. Theme is Halloween so I chose NOT to wear a kilt...kilt is not a costume etc.
We get there and there's a guy in a kilt. Not just any kilt - a hand sewn Antarctica tartan kilt. Introduced myself and wearing pants (my costume was John Beluchi from Animal House...wore a sweatshirt that read COLLEGE) I told him I had kilts too, even had an Antarctica tartan kilt before selling it last year. What are the odds of two kilts, let alone two Antarctica tartan kilts in my small town?
It turns out he's a government man who spent three years in Antarctica and even more amazing his wife is my physical therapist and she sewed up the kilt!
No I didn't explain about the kilt is not a costume as to why I wasn't kilted.
Another strong indicator of the extensive acceptance of kilts.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."
