Howdy from Austin!
I'm a retired, 67 year old living in Round Rock, Texas near Austin.
I've never worn a kilt but have been wanting to for sometime. In the past weeks I've been reading a lot about them.
Austin is a very casual dress town and I like dressing well, so I'm often a bit over dressed - e.g. only one at the opera or a formal wedding in a tux. I'm known for my hats and, in the cooler months my bow ties.
I'm currently leaning towards the USA Kilts Casual Kilt for everyday use and since the town is so casual, the entry cost is low, and I can figure out how much I will wear it.
I was in the Army from 67 to 75 (active to 72 then active reserves) so I'm thinking of getting the US Army tartan.
I have a number of questions which I'll post in a thread on the Kilt Advice forum.
