Cold weather wear question?

I will be kilted in Ottawa Canada November 11 outside for a few hours the weather could get cold. I dont mind the kilt in cold weather but what would be proper for a coat.

So what did you end up wearing? I took my duster (horse coat) but ended up leaving it in the car. The only bits of me that got cold were my feet and the backs of my knees.
