I walked into a Glasgow pub once and was quite happy I did NOT wear the kilt. 
Another time, we had a Glaswegian present the Immortal Memory at the Heather & Thistle, and he savaged everyone in a kilt (he wore black slacks); reprimanding us because Robert Burns was a Lowlander.
I should say, I have a couple of Glaswegian friends, and they are not shy about busting chops.
