Burn's Night Out number 3.....
Greetings,
My wife and I attended the Saint Andrews Society of Washington DC Burns Night Out at the Belle Haven Country Club, in Alexandria Virginia. A large donation is made from the ticket sales to the Washington Scots Charity & Education Fund. This was our second time attending and we had a wonderful evening. I am a member of the St Andrews of DC, and so nice to see and speak to some friends and make new ones. As expected the event was well done, with the pipe band starting off the night, follow by the trouping of the colors, and some Scottish Dancers, with several other piping numbers. Then the parade of the Haggis, with Burn's Haggis poem was recited and done extremely well. Food was excellent, some of the normal Haggis with fixings, and then filet and salmon. Several great speakers focusing this year more on Robert Burns private life, and his love for the lassies. I took several photos that I will post a little later, I think you will like them. I would encourage you next year to attend this event at least once, it is such a well down event. So now we have the Fredericksburg and the SASDC event to attend next year.... PHOTOS to follow this evening under new thread....CHEERS.
