Tartan day
In Canada we celebrate Tartan day on April 6th...and by my calendar that's on FRIDAY...... I live on Canada's west coast ... in a small town called Courtenay, half way up Vancouver Island.
I doubt there will be a lot of folk walking about the town centre in their kilts, but I plan on increasing what ever that number is by one.
I will take some photos as I wander about and hopefully so will other members of XMTS in their communities ....... I look forward to your photos, and hope you will get a smile from mine.
For me, wearing my Canadian Maple Leaf tartan, or my Victoria, City of Gardens, will be a huge pleasure and if things go as they have in the past, I will generate lots of smiles.
In anticipation of my wander about town tomorrow, I went looking for some brown slip on shoes this afternoon, and low and behold at my favourite thrift shop there they were!!!.....
I know some folk think that matching leathers is a no-no, but in this case I like how they show off the grain in the different kind of leather. The sporran leather is pigs skin and the shoe leather has a wee brass tag on the bottom near the heel that says genuine snakeskin.... Yikes I hope that doesn't infer that I will be slitherin' around on my walk about tomorrow
