Well, I had enough yesterday and decided that I would wear a kilt while running errands. I chose my 4yd 13oz wool and double socks. (You can see the same outfit on my gallery, Plains of Abraham2.)
Not bad at all. Even the knees faired ok.
Met a retired doctor in the grocery store. He regaled me with a story of his being kilted in the winter, 50 years ago. He suffered from frostbite to his ear while digging his car out of a ditch in the middle of nowhere (The jewelry was just fine).
Two elderly women in the parking lot made a comment about cold knees. Just laughed.
At Canadian Tire, will purchasing a drying rack for my kilts, I ran into a woman who had immigrated from Scotland. She thought that it was perfectly normal to be kilted in Canadian winter.
