Whisky Galore
Well not quite...
Sadly the 2 tours I was planning to run to Mull, Glencoe and Skye and another distillery tour to Speyside all bit the dust this year due to travel restrictions and the uncertainty around this. Although I already have one fully booked tour for 2022, and working out a private tour for a small group.
Never-the-less, I have managed to squeeze in 3 trips to the UK since August. Mainly to see family, but last weekend I was in Edinburgh with work colleagues for an away day and workshop. So I took the opportunity for a not-so-dry run at a little whisky wobble I had put together for my tours - and to introduce some newbies to the world of whisky. Broadly speaking the plan was to take a 'walk' through the different whisky regions, visit half-a-dozen whisky bars and grab some decent scran.
Here's the route:

The bars included:
- Usquabae
- Scotch at the Balmoral
- Whiski Bar & Restaurant
- The Devil's Advocate
- The Bow Bar
- Amber
The malts sampled:
- Kingbarns Dream to Dram (Lowland)
- Linkwood 12 (Speyside)
- Aberlour Casg Annamh (Speyside)
- Edradour Caledonia (Highland)
- Scapa Glansa (Islands)
- Glen Scotia Victoriana (Campbelltown)
- Laphroaig Four Oak (Isaly)
My pick of the bunch was the Aberlour - outstanding, complex and well balanced. So had to bring a bottle back with me...

I also snagged a bottle each of Bunnahabhain Cruach Mhona and Highland Park 16 Wings of the Eagle on my previous trips - safe to say the whisky cupboard is looking less depleted.
