New to the forum, returning again to kilts

I'll let my avatar speak for itself- I'm not the most traditional kilter! Yes- you can wear tie dye with a kilt. At least a OG black Utilikilt, if you are running the stages for a festival....

I have two badgers inside me, one likes to hike and mess around with forges and get grease and machine dirt all over myself- and care less than nothing about tradition while enjoying and celebrating a kilt.

And the other badger likes a kilt pin and belt and maybe a fancy shirt or two. I do enjoy some of the stuff that goes with the traditional kilt and like exploring how practical some of the accessory garb really is.

I've spent, off and on, a lot of time full timing a modern kilt, have lived for several weeks at a time during festivals in a great kilt (I did have 4 shirts!)

I'm coming back to it again, and finding I like the higher waist of a trad kilt, but still prefer the feel and pockets and hammer loops and such of a modern UK style kilt.

I've made clothing- from garb to "normal" (sort of) and a few kilts -
A traditional one - out of necessity for a festival years ago. it's not great, but not really awful.
And a few modern ones with double seamed pleats and a wider waistband... some design elements I think are a bit lacking much of the time- I could get into it, if I decide I want to do that again.

I've read several threads on the forum over the years and am glad to have finally joined

    Thanks!
