Back to sporrans, here's an older quite handsome WE Scott sporran with the higher-quality silver-plated cantle. It's already attracted bids which is no surprise.
Notice it has the scribe-line across the back, forming a hinge of sorts for the opening back. This was a feature of the earliest WE Scott 1953 Patent sporrans, which also bore the Patent number on a second gold oval stamp.
At some point they stopped using the Patent stamp, and at some point after that stopped doing the scribe-line hinge.

And here's what appears to be a more recent WE Scott Evening sporran.
Yes the cantle is the less-expensive chrome (or nickel?) version, but overall the sporran is nice.
