Hamish!! HELP!...or anyone from Ireland
I've been tapped as someone who might be responsible for taking the Lord Mayor of Dublin, his wife, the Irish Consul and a mess of VIP's from Dublin around Stanford on a tour in March.
How it all came about is a long story, but San Jose, California and Dublin, Eire are sister cities. The delegation won't be able to attend my concert on campus on Saturday night, but apparently they're interested in a visit to Stanford. I got the SJ-D sister city board in touch with the appropriate people here at Stanford, and they've come back to me and said..."well, YOU started it!".
I've got a couple of mates...a professor of Irish-American Literature and the guy in the Library who is the curator of the Modern Irish Literature collection tapped to help me out, but hosting the Lord Mayor is a **Big Deal** I understand.
Gaaaa! Should I wear a saffron kilt? I don't want to come off as a "wanna-be" but I've got no reason to NOT wear a kilt. Would it be appropriate? Would the Lord Mayor and/or a bunch of businessmen from Dublin have a clue what the saffron kilt actually is, or would they just think it was wierd?
How to get a saffron kilt in 5 weeks???
I think that blue jeans and a t-shirt is not going to cut it.
