Turn it on it's head!
The lack of comment about your kilt indicates acceptance, so that kilt wearers are not seen as an eccentric minority-rather a part of the mainstream of life-that kilt wearing is entirely normal.
Something I'd suggest we should all be looking towards: for that acceptance will in turn lead to the kilt being accepted as say office/work wear; and at functions without comment or question.
So rather than regret-you should be jubilant that another success has been registered on the kilt wearing horizon.
For the reality is that there should be nothing special about wearing the kilt-rather it being a normal and sensible way for a man to dress, and a way that is accepted in all walks of life.
