My wife calls me a pessimist.
I respond by saying: "At least most surprises a pessemist gets are pleasant surprises."
One of my favorite sayings is thata pessimist is never dissapointed. He always expects the worst, then if it happens, he was prepared for it. If the outcome is positive, then the pessimist is pleasantly surprised.
