My daughter has a project for school called little moments, where the kids are to write on the little things that happen in the course of a day. This seems to fit the bill.

On Sunday it was a beautiful fall day and my 8 y/o daughter and I had to go into our little town to get food for dinner. I was wearing my Blackwatch kilt. Traffic was moderately heavy and as I stood on the curb waiting to cross a lovely woman in a yellow VW bug stopped in the middle of the road backing up traffic and she leaned her head out the window and said to me. "I love your kilt." My daughter beamed and we both said thank you very much. She waved us across and went on her way. Once across the street my daughter just said "cool." Little moments.
