I also have a pair of red hose that I thought would go nice with this combination with some black flashes added.

Is it just me, or does everyone start taking more pride in their appearance when they are kilted? I know I've become very concious about color combinations, and wanting to look good even when dressed casually.

Note - I now have 10 SportKilts. They are: solid khaki, solid gun metal grey, All Irish Green, Amstrong, Irisher (a kelly green and cobalt blue combo), USA tartan, Saint Patricks, MacLaren Ancient, Stewart Black, and Black Watch. All have belt loops and sewn down pleats. Not bad for the money, and gives me a lot of variety on a limited income due to my disability. Obviously I'm addicted, and love wearing them.

Darrelll, first off WELCOME! Ok, now that that is out of the way, I think that you look fine, but a smile would go a long way! I realize that pain can be a significant deterent to a smile, but maybe a grimace and a thumbs up would fool people into thinking you are smiling!

Red hoses with that ensemble would work well too, even without the red polo, which does not really stand out much. If you really wanted to make a statement, wear the red polo and red hose with white or black flashes! You would make a very nice fashion statement.

As for taking more pride in your appearance while wearing a kilt, just read this forum. You will find that we all feel like we take more time in putting together what we wear with a kilt than we ever would have considered when wearing p#$%s!

Good on you for jumping in to kilt wearing. If you are on a budget, Amerikilts are also a good value, $95 US for a kilt, although they are a bit light if you live where winter occurs! Pittsburgh kilts are another good option, but Jeff is on hiatus for a while, and USA Kilts is also great! You can also find some good deals on eBay, but be careful.
