target market
Goth and grunge will both wear kilts for various reasons.... never have known "cross-dressing" to be among them. In the grunge crowd, the kilt is in fact seen as VERY masculine. As far as the goth shop carrying only "skirts", I asked a mate of mine who manages a shop. He says it's about the market. The kids who are the target 1) do not know kilts AND 2) have limited budgets. For the company to make money, it only sells the cheapest knock offs it can find.
