    Talking First Canadian Casual Kilt

Got my Canadian Casual Kilt today after seven long weeks of waiting. The jonesing was worth it. This kilt is great!

For those who haven't heard of Canadian Casual Kilts, it's owned and operated by XMarks' own MacHummel and his wife, who are, unfortunately, website-less. MacHummel makes tailored 4-5 yd, 8 yd, and great kilts using 11.5 oz polyvicose with the traditional three-straps (for the 4 & 8 yd kilts).

I ordered a 4-5 yard kilt in Robertson Red, with matching flashes and flask pocket (on the under apron) for $203 US, including shipping. The fit is great, and the comfort - well, once I have a good day sporran I may not wear my UKs again.
(Okay, I'm exaggerating there, but this is so comfortable - and so warmer than cotton.)
Compared to my wool kilts - it's definitely lighter and less scratchy than my 4 yd 13 oz; I don't know about warmth because that's my "good" kilt and I haven't worn it in a while. I do know that it is both lighter and warmer than my 3 yd 10 oz sport kilt.
My only complaint is that the flask pocket may be a little high. On the other hand, only a very, very good friend will be able to get her hands in that pocket.;)

I posted pictures here - CCKs 1-4. No pictures of me wearing it yet - I don't have a tripod. And you can see in #4 the surprise gift that MacHummel included.
