Kilted in the city
Today I decided to face the crowd....kilted.
Caledonia modern "tank", lovat blue hoses, tartan flashes, black casual belt, black Freelander sporran, casual shoes and a dark blue windstopper sweater...it's freezing overhere....sort of.
I went to the city centre to do some shopping and just walk around a bit...lunch, coffee (espresso addict)...also to show off my kilt and new Freelander
First I noticed was...how people can overreact to cold...really insane...it's freezing, but that's about it...people dress like they live on Antarctica...it really isn't that cold. Anyway...the crowd on the shopping streets looked pathetic...greyish and miserable...almost grim...and for no reason.
I felt sort of out of place...wearing my colorful Caladonian tartan kilt, no heavy coat, no gloves, no cap.
Most didn't notice me, those who did looked at me like I was an alien...and I looked at them more or less with the same thoughts...are these people alive?
I went to a lounge to get myself a good espresso..hey! how nice! cheerful people drinking their coffee and talking to each other. Thank God!
A waitress came to my table and took my order...when she came back to bring me my espresso she mumbled "I like your kilt" she started to blush...and dashed off. Another waitress brought me my lunch..."I also like your kilt" (also? ;-) )
Grey crowd...here I come!...my smile won't go away
