Thanks. I've followed the "proper" arguments here and in other discussion groups. I've alway been pretty conservative and a traditionalist, so it takes quite a bit of prodding to go against the norm for me. I most likely would never have bought a kilt to begin with if I hadn't discovered that a) the Irish did wear kilts, and that b) I found a tartan for our family. This gave me enough justification to give it a try.

My first public (sort of) appearance will be at a St. Patrick's Day party I'm hosting, and then I'll wear it again at the Highland Games. How many other times it will come out I'm not sure yet. We'll have to see where it takes me.
