I do enjoy the sporran presence myself but I'm an on-the-thigh wearer. one reason is simple "bounce factor" when I'm walking, gets a bit anoying after 50 yards or so. and i think i'm used to going for side pockets to get stuff so it seems a bit more natural to me.
