Go for a "starter" kilt...many posts on this forum about what your options are in that regard. Try to score a sporran and a wide enough belt to go with...you'll be a lot more comfortable out in public with the "whole" look...it makes it very clear that you are wearing a KILT and not something else.

They are way cool to wear out and about...I did my yard work in mine this morning and went one for one: one neighbor tried to ignore it and say nothng and another who asked a ton of questions. It has become very comfortable for me to go about kilted and I hope that you'll find it so as well.
