I bought the Stillwater Standard Nightstalker and these are the things I didn't like:

1. Fabric feels rough
2. Fabric feels lightweight
3. Kind of weird putting it on but the various straps are standard on many kilts
4. I need a sporran which I knew beforehand but just getting "suited up" with all the straps and chains and whatever seems like such an ordeal!

I don't know - it might just take some getting used to. It is hanging in the closet and I just don't know what to think. I much prefer the heavier poly/cotton blends but that's just me.
Traditional style straps do take a little getting used to and do require a bit more time, but I much prefer the straps. For one thing, they are much more forgiving of changes in waist size. For instance, if you eat a bit too much at a meal, you can just loosen the straps one notch. You can't do that with snaps.
