Kilt lost battle with tree
I'm sad to say that after good service my SWK black Stewart is no longer a serviceable kilt. I was out yesterday evening, just after sunset, because it was so bloody hot all day. I took my old Rover up the mountain to a canyon where there is a stream. On the way up I came across two ladies in a Jeep that were stuck at the first stream crossing. I proceeded to do the kilted gentleman thing and winch them out. In the process of the winching I managed to become entangled in the winch cable and destroyed about six pleats in the roller guides. Just a reminder to be careful if your kilt may become entangled in machinery. Got them out and headed in the right direction and then met them for a Guinness later that night. Oh! and to add insult to injury I got some loose threads caught on a live oak tree and tore a pleat about 4 inches. Does anyone else have kilted misshap stories they could share that would ease my loss, I really liked that kilt for general all around wear. O'Neille
p.s. I'll probably use the carcass and make my daughter a kilt. SWK Black Stewart will live again.
