I've traveled England and Scotland by road, tube and rail, kilted and bifurcated, from Portsmouth to Inverness with many stops in between, and never had a problem while wearing my kilt. I went shopping kilted, with the Glaswegians who visit Niagara Falls often, and I don't think I got a second glance at what I was wearing. Around the Falls while wearing a kilt, though, it's not uncommon for a tourist to want a photo of me kilted.
