OK, how about having the ability to actually embed YouTube videos and Google videos into forum posts? Sound like a plan? Just be forewarned that ALL forum rules and guidelines apply to submitted videos and there will be a zero tolerance policy on inappropriate video submissions.
There is a vintage video of one of my favorite songs available on YouTube. The URL of the video is - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vyx1xeZo_tk
Now you can click on that link and whisk yourself away to YouTube to watch the video, or you can just watch it in this post.
If you look at the video URL, you will see some characters following v= which is the video's ID number. That is all we are interested in, just that ID.
The secret is the use of the BB Code tags. Characters that are enclosed in square brackets [] are capable of applying some other code in the background. I cannot type the codes out, as they will try to apply themselves, so pay close attention.

OK, all of the same applies for embedding a Google Video.
There's a video of some pals of mine that you will doubtless recognize at the following URL - http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6081071686307064915&q=Albannach
Again, all we're interested in is the video ID number, which is everything after docid=
[type "gv" in here without quotes]6081071686307064915&q=Albannach[type "/gv" in here without quotes] Remember the gv code has to appear inside square brackets [].
Enjoy!
