Just read the newspaper report for the St. Patricks day charity run in Jamestown, ND last weekend. http://www.jamestownsun.com/articles...12e01974611f1f
A total of 1,277 people paid to participate in the 29th Runnin O’ the Green last weekend. An estimated 800 people did not pay the entry fee but also participated, said Larry Knoblich, event organizer.
A total of $11,800, the proceeds of the $10 entry fee after expenses, was distributed to needy causes.
“We paid 11 seriously ill, cancer-stricken people, each $300,” Knoblich said in a press release. “And contributed $8,500 to Camp Grassick.”
The contribution to Camp Grassick was matched by the Dakota Medical Foundation.
Camp Grassick is located on Lake Isabel near Dawson, N.D., and is operated by the North Dakota Elks Foundation. They provide a camping experience to youth and adults with various disabilities each summer.
While most participants looked at the Runnin O’ the Green as simply a fun trip through Jamestown there is a competitive side to the event.

800 freeloaders that's just wrong......I'm glad the money we did raise went to deserving charities.
