My First Off-the-Rack on the Way
Well I took the plunge today.
I have been wearing kilts for 40 years (I have never not had kilts in the closet in that time), but I have only had ones that wear made for me but in a few days that will change.
I decided I wanted to try an off-the-rack since I do enough in a kilt that I don't want to risk ruining a $500-800 kilt all the time. So after perusing the site and reading reviews I decided to try an SKW as my first casual. I ordered their standard kilt in the Royal Stewart Tartan. I grew up wearing that Tartan (I am a Stewart) but haven't in 15 years. Since it seems to be overused for Christmas and every cheap tartan piece of tourist crap on the royal mile (sorry venting) I didn't want to spend the money on a kilt I might not wear much. However for $80 I figured why not. If it looks decent I'll use it for games or just to knock around in.
I am also very interested to compare an off-the-rack with what I am used to. I know it will be different and maybe I will hate it, but we'll see.
So, I'll post the pics once it arrives.
