New kilt, and a question
I picked up my new kilt today. I was ready last week, but I couldn't get free to get it so I went today. It's a 9yrd wool Hunting MacKintosh Made for me at The Athol Brose in Cambridge Mass. Ms. Murray did an excellent job, but I've shed a few lbs since I was measured, so I expect I'll need the straps adjusted in a month or so.
My question concerns sporran loops. Are they standard, or can they be left off? This kilt doesn't have sporran loops. I didn't notice until I got home. I called, but Ms. Murray wasn't there, and her assistant said it was common for a kilt to not have the loops. I've not seen that before, and am wondering what'll keep the sporran strap from sliding down.
Anyway, pics coming soon.
