Just a reminder to the board that Franklin's 11th annual "Taste of Scotland" festival is scheduled for June 16, which is coming up very shortly!

I know there are lots of X Markers in the Carolinas, GA, and TN. Here's your opportunity to come to a nice relaxing small town street fair with a Scottish flavor and lots of beautiful mountain scenery.

You can see the schedule of entertainers up on the web site -- note that this year the main stage entertainment is scheduled up to 7:00pm!

The museum will be open extended hours that day, from 9:00am till whenever people finally go home in the evening. :-)

No admission charge for the festival iteself. However, if you want to attend the BBQ/Ceilidh on Friday night you will need a ticket (right now if you purchase yours in advance it's $10/adult and $6/child*, with prices being $12/adult and $8/child at the door -- tickets available at the museum).
*I think I have the child prices right, I'm going by memory this morning...

Also, on Sunday after the Kirkin' of the Tartans, local historians will lead a bus tour following the route of Mongomery's 77th Highlanders through Macon County. There is also a fee for this, but it's nominal (only a couple of bucks if I remember right).

Questions? See the web site for general info. Otherwise call the museum at (828)524-7472.

I'll be there!
