As promised, here is a selection of pictures of my travels when I stayed at Ferintosh last week. The full set will be uploaded to my photo blog site at www.fotothing.com/cleftref .

The pictures below seem appropriate as I emerge from my cocoon of metamorphosis. They are all taken at the kiltmaking exhibition in Gatehouse of Fleet.

You enter through the Post Office, then go through the café to the gift shop at the rear. Facing you is a glass panel behind which a lady is working on making kilts. To the right is a glass case containing kilt pins, two of which I bought after approaching the lady in the gift shop only to discover that the lady kiltmaker was in charge of these!

Above the glass panel is a series of panels outlining the history of the kilt and photos of these appear in order.

Panel IV

Panel V (didn't realise that John Brown was not being "true" but I guess he didn't wish to amuse Queen Victoria!)

Panel VI

I peeked behind the glass and asked the lady if she minded me taking a couple of pics her side of the glass. She was fine about it!

And a close up - wonder who the lucky recipient is going to be! I did ask what the tartan was but have forgotten what she said!

The Legend continues!
