Dumfries and Galloway Pictures #7
As promised, here is a selection of pictures of my travels when I stayed at Ferintosh last week. The full set will be uploaded to my photo blog site at www.fotothing.com/cleftref .
I had always wanted to visit Stranraer but when you get there it's not a very exciting place compared to other towns in Galloway. However, it's a port for ferries to Northern Ireland.

Looking towards Loch Ryan and the northern end of the peninsula.

But having got this far, I couldn't resist heading for the Mull of Galloway which is the southernmost point on the Scottish mainland. It's a good road as far as Drummore then a single track with passing place. Here is the lighthouse.

And another view. When it was manned it must have been quite luxurious compared with some.

The visitor centre, alas they had no fridge magnets for sale.

After riding hell for leather to get back to Dumfries for the kilt night, the evening sunlight on the building was just too lovely to resist.

More to come!
