Hi Phil,I am sorry to take issue with you,but it was not the English that developed and used the bayonet tactic you describe.It was the British army and that army had been British for nigh on 150 years before that tactic was used with such devastating effect at the battle of Cullodon.One can only wonder and admire the discipline required to use such tactics, awful though they were.
