I think you are wearing your kilt about 1 -2 inches too low. Pull it up a bit, it feels strange at first, but you will rapidly get used to it. Generally the edge of the kilt should come to lower than mid knee.

I think it's probably close enough. The camera angle is quite steep and that would perspective would add to the length.
(I'm pretty sure you meant no lower than mid knee.)
I'd say you did a very good job for a first outing. Looked like a fun wedding.
