I was in the local hospital today grabbin a coffe as it was close to my new domicile and I needed a caffeine fix. Whilst in line, a lady behind me started asking about the black utilikilt and what the occasion was that I was wearing a kilt at all.

"No reason, I just really like wearing a kilt. Got it a month ago and can't put it down."

"Are you affiliated with some sort of group or something?" she asked.

"Sort of, but I wear it because I like to." I replied.

She then makes a note to inform me.....

"It hangs nicely off of you."

"Thank you, and it holds a six pack" a few people behind us giggled at that.

I made mention to her that kilts make great Christmas gifts and she then told me her husband would never wear one. I retorted that you may be surprised at what a man would wear.

As I walked away from the counter with coffee in hand I heard another voice down the hall behind me..

"*hmhhm* kilts."

I listened a little more closely and heard this lady in her late 40's say something very complimentary.

"..women like to see a man in a kilt. He-men wear kilts."

I turned around to see who was speaking about my unbifurcated self, and seen this lady as bald as could be ( I'm guessing chemotherapy) pushing her IV stand while talking to who looked like her 12 year old daughter/grand daughter. She didn't know I was stopped to see her and she then repeated,

"He-men where kilts."

She then looked up and I made sure to say thank you to her. I was about 30 ft from her when I caught her saying all this and she gave me a big smile when I thanked her out loud for the great taste she had.

I made a few people smile by even wearing a kilt into a hospital, and left a smiley guy because a complete stranger who is going through chemo had taken the time to explain to her daughter what kind of man wears a kilt.

Great, great day.

It really shook me to see that lady who was obviously not doing so good explain to a younger generation what a man is doing in a skirt.

Lads, I hope you all have this experience. And if you have, please let me hear about it.

Cheers.
