All's well that ends well, at least you managed to get a sporran for the occasion, though pricey and possibly illegal. I had the opposite problem. On a recent trip to Memphis, where I had to attend a public meeting for work, I forgot to pack trousers, which I usually wear for this type of thing. Not wanting to buy a new pair that would mostly sit in my drawer I checked a few thrift stores but nothing jumped out at me So I went to the meeting in a kilt. No problems, any comments were positive.
Rex - that little town with the provincial but upscale downtown wouldn't have been Aiken SC would it? If so I know that store. I go to Aiken a lot on business.
