I do not as yet own any Balmoral hose, my Argyll hose are being knit right now and should be to me for Burns Night, however I really must disagree with your assessment. Balmoral hose to me anyway are a way of elevating a dressy outfit, and as Matt has stated they ensure the outfit is unique and a step above the norm. They seem to be a modern take on Argyll hose, perhaps I am mistaken with that assumption but that is what strikes me with them. I think they are quite handsome and will order a pair or two at some time.
