For ease of getting it on and off in a tent, for it's pack-ability and resistance to wrinkling, launderability, low weight (every ounce counts in a backpack), and coolness in the summer heat, I would think that a USA PV casual kilt would be an excellent choice for day.

If you need something warm that will resist wrinkles, and handles getting wet well, and gets along nicely with a camp fire, I would think that a good, well-made wool kilt is a fine choice for night.

I have camped several times with UK and found the pockets very handy. The pleats and front panel are floppy enough that modesty really never becomes an issue.

I would not choose a Stillwater - too heavy, and probably too hot, and I wouldn't trust it around a fire.

My $0.02,
Rex.
