This might seem a bit of an odd question but I need an answer (for peace of mind and to settle a bet) and knew this was the one place i could ask this without feeling too silly asking. Are the potatoes of the "Bangers and Mash" dish mashed up potatoes or are they just cooked until very soft? I checked several different sites with recipes and found they were 1) mashed with milk and butter, 2) cooked to a very soft state or 3) just boiled potatoes. So how are they traditionally served?
