Well, first avoid inexpensive kilts.
Work as a therapist and am seated most of the day. As mentioned sweeping is a key. I've not had a problem with Utilikilts, Freedom Kilts, USA Kilts, and especially hand sewn wool kilts which are bulletproof.
At the end of the day when you're home just brush them off like you would a suit, hang them. The pleats usually fall back into place. If they have some wrinkles then use a portable steamer and they'll fall out.
During the day the few wrinkles aren't very noticable. Have a bunch of pleat shots in my photobucket gallery showing pleats after a long day of sitting, either in the office, or traveling.
Not to worry....if the kilt isn't inexpensive.
