Thank you everyone for the kind comments, I had lots of nice comments there as well!
The parade started off in the rain but by the time we walked to Preston Park it had dried up and the sun was out, so who says that it only shines on the good!!
The denim came from Borowicks in Soho, I;m sure we've mentioned them before, a positive haven of unusual fabrics, Ibought it a few months ago, and for a long time I wasn't sure if I had the nerve to make a kilt out of it, as on the bolt , it was SO bright!
The kilt has 20 pleats with a high waist ,traditional styled, but with a pocket on the edge of the under apron, just behind the fringe. I didn't cut away the inside of the pleats ( I seldom do on a contemporary one) but it does have a good firm feeling akin to a back support, but that was good on Saturday as I was on my feet almost all day!
We ended up on the beach with fish and chips, but this year we didn't go skinny-dipping, as we thought the combination of the cold and the wind were just too much!
Let me know Hamish, and I'll see if they have have any left!! and I;ll add it too the bottle of Woolite!!
