The first time I even wanted to wear a kilt was because I saw a guy in a UK at Oktoberfest. I thought "wow, that just looks freakin' cool". My wife agreed, and even found their website for me.

Unfortunately, when she realized I was serious about buying one, the nervousness set in. I think she had the common "kilts are sexy, but I don't want MY man to wear one" reaction.

Fortunately, after we talked about her feelings, she warmed to it pretty quick. Now she is very supportive. She does however get a little peeved about the "power of the kilt" . I swear if she is not literally standing within two feet of me, some woman will strike up a conversation, or just start lifting my kilt. Of course this usually happens at bars, so alcohol is probably a factor .
