A tongue-in-cheek look
This is from the Independent.ie The basic subject has been posted already, but this has a little different take on it. And never mind the misuse of the expression 'begs the question'.
MORE ANTI-SCOTS RACISM?
Obviously, everyone hates the Scots. Or, at least, they should. The impenetrable accents, the tedious rivalry between Celtic and Rangers and their over- weaning sense that they are somehow equal to the rest of us all combine to make them utterly hateful. Well, that's what the English say about them, anyway.
And there's an irate Jock living in England who is now crying about perceived racial discrimination -- because his local pub won't let him wear his kilt.
Paul Robson (47) is hopping mad after management at the Blackie Boy pub in Newcastle decreed that his kilt wasn't suitable attire for their establishment.
Robson bleated, presumably through an interpreter, that: "This is ludicrous. My kilt cost £1,700 and is part of my heritage. I am proud of my heritage and feel that I am being racially discriminated against."
Of course, the irony of a bloke who drinks in a pub called The Blackie Boy bleating about racism probably eluded him but the whole sorry mess certainly begs one question -- what sort of man spends nearly two grand on a skirt?
