A while back, I offered a couple of my hand made sgians dubh for trade. Got a wonderful old bagpipe chanter for one and just yesterday I got a new sporran for the other! The reason it took time to get it was that the sporran was made special for me!

This is Thorfinn#106. Lovely buffalo leather, two flaps. I sent Turpin a remnant of the wool my good kilt was made from and one of the flaps now matches my kilt!

This is a larger sporran than my commercial one (which is just big enough, but with no extra space) and I think will be more comfortable for that reason.

One of the little details I really appreciate is that the tartan flap has the leather edge dyed to closely match the green that is dominant in the tartan. I was expecting the edge to be the same brown as the body of the sporran. Little details like this make the whole transaction even more pleasing.

Anyway, without trying to advertise or pimp Turpin's work, I do want to say that this trade went flawlessly, I got a great product, I'll be back with money at some point in the future to get another one. For the price he charges, I think anyone can consider Thorfinn sporrans a good deal. Also, an aspect of the whole transaction that I consider very important is that he is excellent about communication. He told me the options for leather, flaps, and so on, he answered every message I sent in very good time, has been uniformly positive in every message.

Turpin, if you are reading this, I'm thrilled with it!
