I've found no significant differences between a UK edition and a US edition, save perhaps the cover.
As pointed out, sometimes the US edition may have some words spelled "American" style, but otherwise there should be nothing added or deleted. That said, I usually prefer getting a UK published book so I can read it with the British spellings.
