I wasn't sure whether to post this under "Show us your Pics" or "Kilts in the Media," but since these aren't my photos, I decided it goes here.

Google has announced the availability of newly digitized images from the archives of LIFE magazine. I searched for "kilt" and a good number came up. Here are a couple of my favorites.

The family home since 1726, Capt. Archibald Fletcher mows
the lawn in his kilt while here on leave.

This gentleman has movie-star good looks, but his kilt hasn't held up as well. I'm impressed with his ability to mix patterns. Click the image to go to the Google/LIFE landing page then click again for a blow-up view.

Lord Lovat standing in front of his estate.

In this and other photos of Colonel Lochiel, it appears that he is wearing a non-tartan tweed kilt suit of the sort that Rocky will make for me some day.
