May I suggest a sea turtle, perhaps turquoise , somehow worked into the design of the cantle, Ron.
Horse hair would be WESTERN!

Change out the cantle poss & replce the "sporran badge with a "native motif" like this PNW "Beaver" or a Turquoise ??
