Question for experienced sewers
I've been thinking about my recently completed x-kilt and the lines of stitching at the pleat edges. I remembered that when I was in the Army, my dress pants had permanent creases in them. (Perma Crease is a proprietary system using a bead of silicone adhesive that's set with heat.) I think that something similar in an x-kilt would take up less material at the pleat edges and allow the pleats to open up more naturally.
I was wondering if anyone knows of anything similar for home sewers, or if not, whether a fabric glue would work and would survive repeated washings?
Thanks,
David
