My lovely wife previously took a clearance rack bargain jacket from Target and modified it to be what I have dubbed a "kilt walking jacket". It isn't as formal as my other kilt jackets yet it still can be worn with a tie. The twill material is durable yet lightweight so perfect for going for long walks.

She posted a step by thread of the process here:

Here was the finished jacket:

Now I have just been thrilled with this jacket and have been wearing it often.

It happened that Target brought in another but much smaller batch of them in a different color. My lovely lady told me that if I really wanted it I should to go buy it full price and she would be happy to do another conversion

Yesterday after spending the morning sewing pleats on her first truly traditionally made kilt (using Barb and Elsie's "The Art of Kilt Making" ) for our son she decided she needed a break...

...and decided to work on my jacket!

WHAT A WOMAN!

It took her about three hours (the same as the last one). Being it is the same jacket she saw little point in documenting the process again.

Here is the finished result I proudly wore today:

My very sincere thanks to my lovely wife!

Cheers
